    Dangerous Breakdowns?

Post by NorthernJordan on Tue Sep 04, 2012 6:35 am

HAve any of you had any thing fail on their scooter which could have been really nasty?

Mine was probably when my hub failed, scary since i was just doing 70mph+ down the motorway... Luckily i had slowed down to arounbd 40mph when it decided it would make a bid for freedom... Razz

    YES!

Dragster locked up yesterday nearly killing me
Rear hub fell of a PX a couple of years ago nearly killing me
Front wheel blowout - nearly killed me
Rear wheel blowout - nearly killed me and a mate
Throttle once jammed open on a GP200 which nearly killed me and a dog
A friends main engine bolt on his px once broke through the frame, nearly killing him, me and about 3 others

Nothing dangerous as such on't PK (touch wood), but I did have a problem with the exhaust, it kept coming off, one of the bolts kept loosening, only realised until it started popping and banging, I thought I'd holed the piston. luckily I didn't though.
