    Meeting up in the flesh....

Post by A5_butterfly on Wed Sep 05, 2012 5:53 am

This has been playing on my mind since the weekend, and after giving Wal an earache, decided to air my views on here...

Last weekend, there were quite a few of us, however, when I said hi, or attempted to speak to certain people, I was ignored.

Matt, Jamie and Wal were the only ones who bothered to stop and have a proper chat.

There was a time when people turned and walked in the other direction when they saw I was there.

I was offended by this, I thought we were all meant to be part of the same club, so why in the flesh are we not talking.

Seems to me that there are some people who are happy to hide behind the internet to communicate.

Difficult to know who people are from a tiny avatar photo, maybe you should wear a badge

I have a crowd of people I kick about with already so for me i'd have to stop talking to them to talk to someone I haven't met before who might be a cock.

I'm also a big believer in tent drinking so by the time it gets to mingling time at the do i'm generally a little worse for wear.

It'd be nice to get the club vibe going. After all what was the point of the event page on FB otherwise? Granted I wasn't at Mersea for too long myself, but not many people came for a chat

See, I thought I saw you there, but didn't actually know if it was you and this was at 11pm on Saturday after two nights of heavy drinking.

I'll make the effort at Bridlington

Me? I think I was staggering by that point. I'd guess you were at Builth too, heard someone shouting Tom David repeatedly, couldn't see who/what/why tho. I was "Blotto" by then... I can see a pattern emerging here Laughing

I think we're going to try and organize something less vague this year for Brid with regards meet ups, it was like herding cats last time

Haha! Not sure why that would have been scratch

Needs to be organised so people can arrive instead of seek.

No one is gonna mooch about on their own until they happen upon someone.

tom thats why i pushed to get hoodies done so we can see whos in the club and spot peoples at rallies,

also now we have aquired a gazebo to hand the banner on, should be easier to spot us at camping rallies if the banner is there that is,

as for the likes of brid, yer more organisation with whos going where will need to be applied!

wal i did a complete lesson plan on where to camp and made sure everyone was well behaved, i also filled in a risk assessment for the trip to mersea,

i think most of the hazards were high risk haha

your not too old to be a young gun, me you and wal are the elders!

the wise ones who support the idea of promoting new youth into the scootering scene,

the ones who are guiding the way on how to have a good time in the darkside tent!

I didnt seem to see many of the young guns at Mersea, when i arrived i went straight over to where they were camping and there was only a few there. I kept going back to see if there was anyone to talk to/meet but i never found anyone. Turns out Matt was at the zoo, probably the reason i didnt see him until sunday Wink

I met you at shed, Donna. I didnt know who you was then, until you started talking to my brother and came up to me saying 'Are you Rhys Hill, from the young guns' haha Wink

If I were there I'd stop and talk. For me that's what its all about.... But sometimes it does get beyond a joke, it took me over 2 houts to get from one music room to another in lincoln. Rolling Eyes granted I was fucked as well. Razz
