    Vespa T5 MK1 problems!

Post by Axiom on Fri Oct 05, 2012 5:55 am

My rear indicator on the spare wheel side is not working correctly, if I move the panel I can sometimes get it working but doesn't stay working for long. Any ideas? And also my steering lock is not working at all, since I have had the bike it never turned to the lock position. It's like it's stuck. Also spark plug cap came off twice, why so?

have you removed the nipple off the top of the spark plug so its just threads? the caps grip a lot better when you do this

if you take the spare wheel side panel off and inspect along the top ridge where the wire runs and see if theres any gaps in the wire or breaks in the insulation. if not try cleaning up the contact that goes into the hole at the front of the panel

if it still doesnt work try putting some tin foil in the hole to bridge the connection

check the plug as Jake mentioned. Its possible the Ht cap has simply just wore out and cant grip any more. They arn't expensive to replace tho

Just took a look, the spark plug has a thread on it and still really loose and not gripping.

easy to replace an cheap enough and also the problem with side panel could be that the connectors gone mine was same you can either take tank out and everythink else to replace it or when i was away in wales without scooter dad done some surgery of his own and took a dril to it fished it out that way

Could be a break in the indicator wire that runs along the inside of sidepanel, of simply a bad earth, could also be the frame socket is worn, dirty or just plain fucked £10 fix to change everything
