    Painting kick start lever?

Post by Axiom on Tue Nov 20, 2012 7:44 am

I want to paint my kick start, obviously it's going to be black but should I use any special paint when painting it? or just strip, sand, prime, sand again then paint with normal spray paint? I'v seen heat resistive paint, is that any good?

we used bbq paint on a teachers radiator of his bike it turned out like metallic black mate and it is heat resistance and all we done was spray it but give it some good coats and then maybe lacquer over it

Hammerite it has always been my solution. Just coat it on over any existing paint etc. It's only a kickstart so it doesn't need to be that tidy, right!?

Just leave it to dry for a few days if possible

The kickstart shouldn't get hot enough for a paint defect of sorts. Just paint it as you usually would.
