    Good T5 Mk1 Exhaust?

Post by Axiom on Tue Dec 11, 2012 4:24 am

What's a good, not overly expensive exhaust for a Vespa T5 MK1? I heard taffspeed one's are good but not really easy to get. Also I believe that my scoot has a kit on it of some sort, It has a polini exhaust on it at the minute that's all I know. How could I find out if it's been kitted?

Removed the head and measure the width of the bore.

Ive heard Taffspeeds are good and do come up from time to time. Wally, on here highly rates sterling pipes. Another to look at is SIP roads, dont look as cool but meant to perform well.

If the top end is dark brown/iron, then it can only be a 152 polini, if not, check around the exhaust outlet, if it's stamped malossi then it's kitted, if not then it's std.

But from my experience the left hander scootRS/Sterling pipes work quite nicely on a T5, particularly in standard form. At £100 a pop they're probably the best going for the money, tho I hear good things about the new pinasco pipes

Cylinder and piston = top end (mechanically speaking)
