I had a bit of a nightmare with the tyres, i wanted Mich S83's, which are decent. However i could just not get them on the tubeless rims. I chipped the rear rim a few times, so will have to get it touched up.

After abit of googling i read that the S83's were almost impossible to fit to the rims, but pirrelli's werent too bad. As we had a few of these about, i though f*** it... Very Happy

    What tyres would you recomend.

The matt black paint on the rims is terrible i think , I comes off with just a little smudge as youve found out

I wanted black with a polished lip, but VE had sold out. They do look nice though, they will touch up easy enough.

No they don't split, this makes certain tyres a c*** to fit. Laughing Laughing

They look great, well made. But the black does chip easy.

Tidy! You know my thoughts - sterling all the way (and they've just brought out an RH exit version) - they're shite on most set-ups, but on a std T5 they're perfect. save your money on the drops (never seen them for a mk1 anyway) and bang a 172 on it!

I'm getting rid of my s83's as soon as I can (seems a waste when theres another season left in them). They're better in the wet than a lot of the newer type treads, but there's a bit of a shoulder on them which makes them skittish if, like me you enjoy twatting it round the corners.

Next tyres for me will be conti twists or schwalbe weathermans

I dont plan on running these Pirellis for long at all, just a stop gap to get me on the road.

Dean, having a tube is like having a balloon inside your tyre, once it is punctured it goes pop. With a a tubeless tyre, in theory the air will release more slowly so you can come to a controlled stop.

But i bought these cos the looked cool... Rolling Eyes Very Happy Very Happy
