What do you guys reckon would be best to do next year? Save for a Lambretta LI and have no new clothes for a year or get myself a T5/PX?

Hahaa! This is going to sound really bad, but I reckon I'd be willing to spend £2000 on a decent scooter.
A Vespa Super? Mate, Supers are poo, trust me! I cannot complain about the suit though. Wink

Handle really badly because of the 8 inch wheels, ugly, slow... Just not worth the effort! The only classic vespa's you'll get for £1500 is a Super or a 'Nam unfortunately. :\

Hahaa, I said I'd have a TV200 with a Mugello 225 kit or I'd have a GS with foxtails, chrome, mirrors and ariels!

As a leaner rider my self, i think that a T5 is the best scooter. This is because you can take your full bike test on it. Lambrettas better Very Happy but if you only have a 125 it will be slow as fook Smile

You can get a half decent px for around a grand though.

PX or T5 but then im not a lammy fan... depends what your preferences are, whether you want to to ride regular or pose on it.
My pic is my PX125, all standard engine and i get about 55 out of it which is quick enough! especially on vespa tyres!
I LOVE sprints... always the classic shap over anything else in my dream world... GS all the way if i had a bottomless pit of money. NOT mod'ed up though haha

Aye, if its going to be a work horse vespa px/t5 all the way.

Lambretta's can be very reliable, but you need to spend a bit of money. If you put an electronic kit, alloy kit and use good quality part they shouldn't let you down.

T5's are good, you can do your full test on them and are quite fast, even as a standard engine, pulling around 70 mph.

You can pick up a solid, but scruffy PX for £600 and spend a few hundred on tidying it up yourself you'll be quids in, likewise I think the going rate for a half sorted lammy reg'd as a 125 is at least £2K. Out of experience I'd definitely advise getting a registered scooter as the DVLA are a bit of a pig at times

I'm not worried about having a sorted Lammy! I'll be buying it then giving it to my mate to do a "super cool" conversion on it. He hasn't heat seized in nearly 20 years because of it and I'd be more than happy to spend that little bit extra on kitting it and having it sorted out properly.
What my plan is is to buy the Lammy, and keep a smaller scooter just for running about on and not being so scared about when it comes to leaving it parked somewhere. Like a PK that's tuned to the brim or something. Smile

Yeah I never used to like smallies but the more I look at the tuning options the more they seem to appear on my wish list, though 75 mph+ on something designed 30 years ago to top out at 35 isn't the best prospect in my mind

My brief stint with lammies taught us that it's not the engines that are unreliable it's more the shite pattern parts people put in them - snapped main shafts, stripped kickstart shafts, temperamental ignition systems and exhausts that fall off... fook that! Shocked
