    Still off the road.

Right thought i'd update you all on the scooter problem!
It's had a new piston more ports cut out and a re-bore.
It's eating plugs so the brand is getting changed.
It's also now getting a up-gearing kit on it! (Mechanic had one spare in his garage)
He's also trying new electrics on it as it keeps on going out of time with it's self.
This was mentioned breifly to me so i dunno how right i am but it was all on these kind of lines of whats happening.

5 weeks till brid, i'll cry if it isn't running right by then.

    1983 vespa 50 special.
I can work on it, but i'd rather someone just do it who knows what their doing.
I haven't even rode it properly yet so didn't wanna waste time trying to fix it when my mechanical knowledge int too great Smile

because there wasn't enough fuel getting through to the engine.
Tried the fuel pipe loads was getting through i think so cut more ports and now it runs without seizing.
it goes through like 2 people before it gets to me so Rolling Eyes
i wish i had just sent it to you shags tbh.

How do you mean the electrics are going out of time with itself?

tbh if the fuel tap is working and the hose is straight there shouldnt be a need to be messing with the ports on the barrel

on the petrol tank , the lid has a small hole on it. drill that slightly bigger and that will help with fuel flo pal Wink
Get the inside of the tank checked for crap aswell. With the shitty fuels these days you always get some sort of shit in the tank.

Not trying to be a prick, but this is when you should've learned how to work on your bike. My first bike was a basket case P200E (and I MEAN BASKET CASE). Building it up not only got me first hand knowledge of the mechanics of the engine and carburetor, but it also taught me a bit about electrical.

    Food for thought.

I agree, but the main reason why it meant to the mechanic was that Josh had been working on it non stock and could not get it to run right. He needed the scooter desperately, so off it went to the mechanic.

When buying the thing i was told it was a stock 50 but had a performance pipe on it. (The guy didn't have much of a clue he was a budgey breeder ahaha)
It was bogging down abit i got it, i took it down to a carb clean as it had been in storage for 5 year.
So, got it home cleaned the carb and put it back in and it still was bogging down.
Put a bigger main jet in and new spark plug and presto was all running nice.
Took it off up the road it seized up, got it back took the head of and turned out it had 112 malossi kit on it still running on a 16/10 carb.
So i spent £110 on a new carb manifold, airfilter and that stuff.
Fitted it and it still wasn't running right, after spending that much on it and not knowing the precise problem of why it was seizing and not running right i turned to asking for help.
I was given loads of reasons why, and i didn't know where to start.
Bearing in mind i was now paying for insurance for the thing £50 a month and paid a full years tax which is only £15 but still.
I sent it to a mechanic that i had been reccomened as i didn't wanna be piling 100's into it and re-newing half the scooter before i got it back.
Sent to bob the mechanic and he did his work on it that i have stated above.
He has more of a clue than me, i sorta wanted the scooter for now i've just got a little unlucky with the whole scooter thing.
But his labour's good as loads of people send their scoots to him, i'd rather send my scooter to somebody who knows what they are doing and paying for it so i can just get on my scooter when it's done and not worry about breaking down because i've put the piston on wrong or whatever.
Next time i'll be doing the scooter myself but as Jordan said i wanted it quick as i have been waiting a year to get on one and now i've got one the thing dunt even work.
Bearing in mind this is my 2nd scooter and i haven't rode one on the road for longer than 10mins.
The first scooter was a total rip off along with this one really.
But like i say next time somethings not right i'll be fixing it myself not sending it away.
