    Big Hello!

Post by jamievespa on Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:26 am

    Hi there everyone! Smile

I'm Jamie, I'm 18 and I've been in love with scooters and the mod scene since I was about 13, had a deep fascination with scooters since I can remember Smile

Got a Vespa PK100 at the mo but looking to upgrade to a new PX125 or LML Smile

Wish I had found out about this place sooner as there doesn't seem to be many younger Mods about round here lol

    Cheers! Smile

    Hi there,

I'm from Wolverhampton in the West Midlands Smile

Here's a couple of pics of the scoot when I stripped all the accessories off to give it a good clean

EDIT: Sorry the pics seem to be a little large but you get the idea Smile

Erm.. She needs a good de-coke really, had her up to 45 and then the carbon in the engine started getting a little hot and took over the ignition and so I was stuck in the road with a scooter revving wildly!

However, that's about all I expect to get, only being a 100, the 125 seems to be able to hit atleast 55...

haha sorry mate but I think I'd keep em for the new one Smile Probably the only thing I'll be able to keep with it being a smallframe going up to a lardy Smile

If you're after mirrors check e-bay regularly Smile that's how I got mine, paid £15 for the 6 and the stems Smile Definitely more deals to be had for the lights as well!

Some nice little numbers there! Fantastic. Smile

So, are you just going to be dedicated to Vespa or LML if you buy another scoot?

Well, I've only really had experience with Vespa's currently and looking at an LML as a newer, more reliable, commuter..

That said, I Love Lambretta's, I think they look great and would love an Li Special one day Smile It's just the reliability and my (hopefully only current) limited knowledge of working on them and that I can't afford one that's stopping me haha Smile

I do try to appreciate all scooter riders in the Mod/Skinhead/Scooterboy scene though Smile

Nice one. Very Happy Well, I'd say Lambrettas are perfectly reliable if you know what you're doing with them, you have to be strict about the mix of oil to fuel, you have to clean the carb alot, make sure that the air is sufficient to the engine etc etc... And that's coming from Vic Saunders who is one of the UK's top Lambretta restorers..

In a year or so I intend to get a Lammy as an everyday work commuter (I can f***ing hope!) But we'll see. Very Happy

Due to my lack of knowledge about LML/Vespa mechanics I can't really make a comment on them, it's just how much you're willing to spend and how much time and money you're willing to put into it. Smile

We have to mate! We're all looking out for each other now! Especially with these bastards blagging scooters alot in more recent years! And the fact that all three cultures are ridiculously cool!
