You should be able to get a 50cc cylinder put on, get it inspected by dvla etc and be fully legit

would this restrict it to 50cc so then when i'm 17 i can just take the 50cc cylinder off and have the full 100cc?

Yarrp. You'd have to get one of the small frame perverts to confirm compatibility

Personally, I think its how you ride. If you stick to speed limits and don't ride like a cunt. Why would they have to pull you?

Totally agree, you're less likley to get pulled, especially if you wear the right kit and don't ride like a prick. But your v5 needs to be fully legit, as ANPR's can and do catch people out. So needs to be reg'd 50cc at the very least

As I say, it's easy enough to get it registered yourself to a 50cc

If that's the case, out of all the scooter on here. I would go for matts, if he sorts out for you as its regd as a 50.

theres nothing to worry about it being registered as a 50, at the end of the day it being registered as a 50cc is a dvla issue to a police issue,

if police pull you over the only way they could possibly know its 100cc is by doing a compression test, now with the police stretched as they are, are they really going to take your machine off you, get it inspected and tested?

no i think they would be far happier to issue with a speeding ticket, and if they do pull you over it will be to check you have insurance license etc or if you have been a complete knob on it at the end of the day.

even stop checks by the police for road worthness, they will only check what an mot tester would check and as two wheels are not subject to emissions tests etc, who is going to know?

like someone said before, a pk 100 is just a 50 with a longer stroke crank? isnt it?

on the books its legit, only you and i know what actual engine is in it.

my mate down the street has a pk75 with a pk125 engine in, registered as a 50.

he crashed it into a wall and no one checked it,

and how many pk specialists are there out there in piaggio dealerships?

just don't ride like a cunt and even then, its not that quick for what it is, so police would have no idea of difference.

I'd agree with previous posts, ride sensibly and as long as its on the books you're fine, you can always claim ignorance...

Classic scooters don't really get pulled a lot though

Yeah I wouldn't want get fucked, rather keep my license ha, and just had a thought, jamie how fast was your pk100 unmodified? As the rules state a 1f year old can't ride a bike over 50cc or anything which exceeds 31 mph

Erm its had the Simo on before I got it so I'm not sure what it would be unmodified. I'd guess it'd 35-40 however Shaggy says he's hit 50, maybe I just need an engine rebuild! haha

Yeah mate don't worry about it too much, plenty of 16 year olds get their mopeds de-restricted so they can do near 40 on them. The law is the bike is designed to only go 31mph most of the time meaning the bike is designed to be restricted. I wouldn't worry too much, there's plenty of knobheads out there doing loads of shit to their mopeds and not getting pulled...

Also, I think you will find most 50cc peds do go a tad faster than 31 as standard Wink
