German street racers and custom scoots

Post by MH 13 on Sun Jan 15, 2012 7:29 am

a couple of years ago i found this website and was amazed at the work that has gone into some of these custom scoots, there mainly vespas,

it is in german but if you have google chrome, it should translate it for you, so you roughly get the specs and what they have done to them,

its not been updated in about a year or so, but really good to look for inspiration for your projects.

keep your eyes peeled for huggers and drops you can pick them up at a fraction of the cost,

i knew a bloke who sold a set of pm tuning drops for 100 quid, there normally twice or three times that price new,
sip ones second hand your looking around that price too

huggers, again just keep your eyes peeled on ebay and scooter forums, they do appear, i sold one a year ago for 40 quid

Im not totally into the "Street Racer" look

I prefer the engineering over looks
This is why im posting this:

This is a creation by a guy named Olaf
the engine is a Honda RSC Rs125 barrel grafted onto smally block
The one off exhaust is hidden with a Et3 banana on the end used as a silencer to make it look standard.
This motor destroyed a crank and a clutch spider in the making

It currently kicks out just under 45BHP !!!

i like engineering too, but im crap at engineering,

i like the idea of vespa 'sleepers' where no-one really knows whats in the engine, only works with the better classic shaped vespas though, not pxs,

lambrettas with bike engines and auto conversions i like too, only thing about pm tuning auto lambrettas are them 12 inch wheels, i can't stand them

I cant stand 12 wheels on scooters either. looks wrong. It bet aswell if you havent got the poke it wont pull it.

Them pictures arnt the fully finished concept, I couldnt find the pic of the exhaust ...But it looks mint
and yes Josh...I can see the cables arnt attached Razz

I suppose you could class my smallframe as a "street racer" cause of the orange paintwork and the homemade hugger and big tyres I guess
I want to go for a different look this year tho

I personally like subtle street racer style scoots, with a plain but with some tidy detailing. Some drop bars and lots of subtle one off trick parts which make people look twice, but then again its cool to have something brash and loud which screams in you face FAST!!! Razz
