    Agrati capri project

Post by Jamie on Fri Jan 20, 2012 5:34 am

i have a capri that i want to get started on, but haven't a clue how or where to start, i don't want to use the original because i just don't have the parts needed and i haven't come across any. so i want to use a small (no bigger than a 250) bike engine, and the forks out of an auto, that way i would have descent suspension and a disk brake. i was just wandering if anyone has done an engine transplant like this and if anyone has any tips.

I'm sure there was one with a lammy engine fitted in scootering a while back. But as they're a tubular sub frame like a lammy, it wouldn't be that difficult to modify it to add a cradle for a decent engine

Lammy engines would be a bit expensive to shove in one...

What about the engne that goes in a dragster and gilerea? The piaggio 125 one? Lots of tuning options and they musnt be hard to find or to expensive?

The capri already has a cradle as it had a separate swing arm and a chain-drive.

This is what the frame is like.

Here is one with a bike engine in.

By the looks of it you could just about bang in a tuned up pit bike engine. It wasn't a capri in the scootering, it was the triumph tina (I think) looking back.

But Jamie 1 word springs to mind... CHOPPER! pirat

i also have an aprilia sr 50 project, thats water cooled but i hadn't considered it for the capri, a red bolted to where the leggie should go would look tops.
