    I finally bought one!! :D

Post by NorthernJordan on Sun Feb 05, 2012 2:19 am

I have just bought a jet 200 performer. Cool

    Here are some pics...

The plan is to leave the paint as is, but modernizations such as elctronic ignition. The extra power will be from a stage four tuned barrel, 30mm carb and a JL3 exhaust.

No haha, but it will run once I have finished with it. Hopefully with the conservative tuning work should kick out around 16-17 hp.

You might want some frame grommets as well! Wink
Haha, lovely scooter though mate. Don't really get on with the 80's scooters as you well know, but I'm proud of you. Nice to see it's in original paint. To be cheeky, how much did you get her for?

    Not saying Wink

It's not really a proper 80s scooter, not much difference from what they were knocking out in the 60s and 70s

Haha, spose not! It's just the indicators and that tail light I don't get on with.

The pictures have been resized for the forum, so it does look a little squashed on the side image. Wink

    make it a sleeper,

so yer leave the paint work as is, take the performer off and i can cut you some new decals if you want,

go over the paintwork with 1200 grade, then laquer it,

get rid of indicators etc and it will be a nice scoot,

could get some pin striping done just to give it the edge

I am definitely not rubbing down the paint or taking the performer decals off... Why would I do that? How rare are they in the UK!

I am in two minds about the indicators, if I can get the running ill keep em. Me thinks.

    What confused

Like I say with indicators, it all depends on how well it works.

i would go without indicators or upgrade them to something newer, they look like whiskas on a horse

or you have stolen them off some biker and made it look shite,

iv seen one of these before with the indicator storks and its awful

I have just had a small mess around with it, it doesn't spark. Will have a deeper look tomorrow, but if I can't get it to work those indicators will probably be conning off.
