    Best sites for Buying/Selling Scooters?

Post by Baxter.17 on Thu Mar 29, 2012 9:09 am

So I've finally saved up enough to buy a scooter, Preferably a Smallframe but right now Im struggling to find a local one that I can afford as all the cheaper ones seem to be in Ireland.
The sites Im searching on and checking daily are eBay and Gumtree... Anybody else know any sites where people buy and sell old scooters?

    Cheers:)

That pretty much covers it really... Also buy scootering magazine, normally a lot for sale on in there.

    Cheers lads. Smile

Another question, Is there any rules or regulations regarding adding extra lights/mirrors to your scooter?
Also will the insurance go up?
    Cheers again.

lights n mirrors are allowed but you won't pass an MOT unless all the lights actually work - i used to have a tonne on mine lol

i have never come across that one,

my dad has umpteen lights and mirrors on his px and has never been asked to prove they work during an MOT,

he has taken it to several different test stations and its never been a problem,

the key to that is to find a scooter friendly mot test station and tester.

as they don't work, they should be classed as accessories, you can add them to your insurance, but for what they cost, if they broke, would it be worth it?

the only problem an insurance company could come up with, would be that the accessories are dangerous if you hit someone, but thats up to the mot tester to decide isn't it??

just remember insurance is a big game and we are the players in this huge big game, the younger you are, the more likely you will be shit on and treated unfairly,

so its up to you on what you declare or not, but some insurers will try not to pay out at any costs, others won't have a clue what your riding anyway,

so like i say, play and game and depending how you play it, depends on what the result will be like if you ever need to claim or be claimed against.
