Usually costs us about £8-9 to fill up, but I try to avoid filling up at supermarkets. I don't know if its me being paranoid, but especially on long runs the engine feels like its running too hot. Seems run better on the premium fuels, so for the sake of the extra 50p..

I think it was about 7 odd quid to fill my smallie tank.
But the recent price rise will affect this now.

Also, mines not exactly economical fuel wise...45 miles and that will be another £7 Suspect

what grade fuel though over in the usa?

iv heard that you have lower compression heads on the vespas over there to compensate for lower grade fuel?

also your government doesn't tax your fuel twice,

we pay a premium on the fuel and then vat on top of that!

    Lol!

I've not put more than a tenner in, so not to bad in the grand scheme of things. I always use a branded fuel and when I can I get the super unleaded.

Only the P200 came with a lower compression head than the rest. I have a Euro head on mine though.

I use 89 octane in my P200. VAT IS SOME BULLSHIT. Thank god my country doesn't have it.

In our regular fuel, I think its got an octane rating of 95 and our premium has a rating of 98+ I could be wrong though...

your correct jordan, the lowest grade fuel in the uk has to be by law 95 octane give or take a small percentage, hence you may see, 94, 95 or 96 on the pump.

as for super unleaded, again it varies, 97-99 is the normal for it, but some do push over 100, my mate had 102 in his car for sometime, as i think sainsburys stocked it for quite a bit, dunno what the octane atm is though.

as for VAT - value added tax, it is a bit of bum here in the uk, not everything has it though, there are exceptions, e.g. children's clothes and 99% of food supplies.

as for fuel as explained before its taxed twice,

so for example - (remember the cost of fuel varies due to markets)

untaxed fuel cost - £0.60 (petrol per litre)

add the fuel duty - £0.5795 (before aug 2012)

    = £1.1795

add VAT (20%) to that cost = £1.4154

the petrol stations here sell it in pence, not pounds and pence so it will read - 141.6 pence per litre

(£6.43 per UK imperial gallon) (£5.36 per US gallon)

so in USD - thats $2.28 per litre, $10.38 per UK imperial gallon, $8.65 per US gallon.

lowest prices around atm are 136.9 where i live in the UK,

so in your case = $8.56 per US gallon

    hope this helps
